A captivating fusion of timeless elegance, historical heritage, and modern residential comfort characterizes this restoration project. The architectural firm Fröhlich and Gassner Architects deliberately embraced the use of natural materials such as wood and clay in this refurbishment of an older structure. The standout feature of the endeavor lies in the expansive living area on the top floor, where the exposed ceiling beams endow the space with a remarkable aura.

The restoration of this historic half-timbered house has given rise to a harmonious blend of history and modern design. Architects Fröhlich and Gassner placed particular emphasis on restoring the original charm of the building. The exposed timber framework makes impressive statements, extending through nearly every room and accentuating the timeless elegance of the house. The use of wood and clay serves as a consistent thread woven throughout the entire project. Clay plaster, wooden floors, and windows create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The solid oak plank flooring complements the house's original character and harmoniously integrates with the modern interior style. The carefully selected mixed grading of the oak floorboards establishes an aesthetically pleasing uniformity, imparting a subtle yet vibrant surface to the floor.

The exposed ceiling beams and visible trusswork in the attic, transformed into a spacious living area, underscore the authenticity of the historic building. The attic, enhanced by three generous dormers and a loggia, attains an appropriate grandeur while seamlessly integrating into the overall aesthetic. The result of this successful restoration of the old building is a captivating interplay of timeless elegance, historical heritage, and modern residential comfort.
